About National Silver Academy (NSA)
The National Silver Academy (NSA) is a network of post-secondary education institutions (PSEIs) (i.e. ITE, polytechnics, universities and arts institutions) and community-based organisations that offer learning opportunities that are subsidised for seniors. Seniors and PRs aged 50 years and above can look forward to attending short courses and bite-sized courses that are exam free. For courses run by community-based organisations, the final fee payable – for both Singaporean and Permanent Resident seniors – takes into account the support given by the government to community-based organisations to develop and offer the short courses.
About The Singapore Association for Continuing Education (SACE)
The Singapore Association for Continuing Education (SACE) is a registered charity with MOE. It offers over 80 courses under the National Silver Academy, most of which are highly subsidised for Singaporeans & Permanent Residents aged 50 and above. SACE serves the continuing learning needs of adults of all ages.

Objective | Knowledge and mastery of body movement and co-ordination through simple yet effective exercises designed that involves movement and music, exercise, and dance! Improve targeted body movements, co-ordination and balance to perform daily routine tasks with ease. To improve blood circulation, balance, posture and teaches how to isolate various parts of the body for better control. Reduce risk of falling and chances of injury with focused strengthening exercises. Mood boosting and mind activation to improve overall quality of life for elderly. |
Description | Participants will learn to master body movement and coordination through simple yet effective exercises designed that involves movement and music, exercise, and dance! To improve blood circulation, balance, posture and teaches how to isolate various parts of the body for better control. To improve the overall quality of life for seniors. Improved coordination, coordination and strength will enable seniors to perform daily routine tasks with ease, reduce risk of falling and chances of injury and greater mental well being. At the end of each session, get on to enjoy some dance moves with exercises you learnt; a delightful surprise for many who have never thought they could dance! |
Trainer | Ben Lau
Ben is a dance teacher who teaches dance classes in social clubs, community centre and schools. He graduated with B Engr (Mechanical), Latin and Ballroom Dance (UK ISTD) at the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. |
